Mr. Estes is the founder and managing partner of Hawaii-based Apeak Invest LLC. Immediately prior to founding Apeak he was a vice president of Channel West Group, where he spent ten years helping the firm achieve full realization of its legacy investments and identifying new opportunities. Before Channel West he was a loan officer in First Hawaiian Bank's corporate banking division. His primary responsibilities included loan underwriting, portfolio management and servicing credit facilities for a mix of large Hawaii business and blue-chip companies throughout the United States
Mr. Estes received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. in Real Estate Finance and Investment Management from the John E. Anderson School at UCLA.
Steve McKenzie, Managing Partner

Mr. McKenzie has worked in real estate acquisitions, asset management, investment banking, and advisory capacities for more than 30 years. Prior to the formation of Channel West Group, he was a Managing Director with Eastdil Secured where he was one of the firm's most senior professionals devoted to its West Coast operations, with particular emphasis on the lodging and multifamily sectors and the Hawaiian real estate markets. During his fourteen year tenure at Eastdil Secured, Mr. McKenzie performed advisory and transactional assignments which exceed $10 billion in valuation.
Prior to joining Eastdil Secured, Mr. McKenzie's experience includes tenures at MetLife Real Estate Investments and VMS Realty Partners. During his career, he has been responsible for acquisitions of all asset types and asset management of office, hotel, retail, residential and mixed use projects, as well as dispositions and joint venture structuring/restructuring activities.
Mr. McKenzie received a B.A. in Economics from Wheaton College, is a licensed real estate broker, and holds series 7 and series 63 securities licenses.
